Having built a number of friendships with people in Lodwar, Kenya a town of about 30,000 people in Northern Kenya, we discovered that there are 300 orphans in this small town. So as congregations in LA we decided to partner with congregations in Lodwar to help find these orphans homes. Our approach, based on the input and advice of those who live in Lodwar, has been to find qualified families to adopt these orphans and then help to subidize the familes who do so. In this way, not only do we help these children be able to eat two meals a day and go to school, but they also get to be a part of a family where they can experience what all of us need in life - love.
While I am the founder and executive director of the Unembraced, Andy Bleyer - one of the equippers at Kairos West LA - is the managing director of the program state side. He is building a great team of people who are moving this ministry forward. Joshua Lemuya is the director the Unembraced in Lodwar, Kenya. He is a faith-filled and faithful man of God who is incredibly gifted and carrying out this work in great ways. You can learn more about the Unembraced at our website. You will also find updates on what we are currently doing with the children on the website.
