As Christ followers, we are a called and sent people. We are called to a relationship of intimacy with God in order to be empowered, nurtured, strengthened, equipped, loved, forgiven, reborn and renewed. and we are sent to be radical disciples of Jesus in the way of love, kindness, peace, justice, generosity, forgiveness and reconciliation. We have been sent to bear witness to the risen Christ in the arenas of the world, to speak with a prophetic voice and vision that denounces different forms of oppression, dehumanization, and explotation that takes place in our culture. God has called us and sent us into the world to invite all people into His reign. Being a sent community means we have been sent into the world to bear the image of God, to carry our worship of Him into every moment of our lives, and to announce to our culture the good news that Jesus is Lord!
Do you realize that if you have put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior that you have been sent by God into the world, into the marketplace and into your neighborhood to be his representative? You have. We have. We are sent to live in the world and for the world as Jesus did. If you want to learn more ways to practically live out a missional life, go to the missional practices section of one of the most visited posts on the missional church - "A Primer on Today's Missional Church". In that section you will find many great articles on how to live missionally. In addition pick up a copy of Creating a Missional Culture (IVP 2012). You won't regret it.
