As art enthusiasts, my friend Daichi Kimura and I founded Artist at the Fountain (A@F). A@F is a place where we appreciate artists and raise money for social justice causes locally and globally. We appreciate the artist in many ways. We connect them with new people who can appreciate their art. We give them a great space - the fountain room - by which they can display or perform their art, and we share our gift of hospitality. They in turn bless us by sharing their talent freely so that we can support social justice causes, whether it is for children at risk in East Hollywood, for grant money to help start new businesses in Kenya, or other worthy causes.
We have had many musicians at the Fountain room, including Kendall Payne, Josh Garrels, A2C and the Zen Soul Band, and the Breezy Love Joy Band. We have had dance companies dance, like Radio Luna, and we have had full length musicals. Some of the social justice causes we have supported include the Invisible Children, The Solis Foundation, The Unembraced and the East Hollywood Toy Giveaway.
